Capture the Flag Tips

Capture the flag is a great game to play outside. All you have to do is to find the opposing teams flag and bring it back to your side, easy right? Well here are some tips to make it easier.

1. Divide your team up

You want to divide your team up into defensive and offensive. You do not want your opponents to find your flag before you find theirs. So make sure your flag is not only well hidden, but well guarded also.

2. Don't be too well guarded

It isn't fair to be standing right next to the flag. Remember this is a game; you need to make it possible for the other team to get your flag and vice versa. You should have some rule in place that everyone has to stand a few feet away from the flag at all times (unless of course the other team is within that then just tag them). Make sure that both teams are aware of this before you start playing.

3. Have look outs

You should have a couple people guarding the flag and everyone should have their own area to monitor. This way you can guard the flag from possible attacks from any direction. You don't want your opponent to sneak up behind you grab the flag and run before you even know what is going on.

4. Create diversions

If you know where the other team's flag is that is the first step. However you can't just go in there and grab it because there will likely be many people guarding the flag. So what do you do? Create a diversion; send a couple people out to pretend to go for the flag. Once the guards are distracted you run in the back and grab the flag. This way you can go behind their backs instead of in front of their faces.
